The Zhushma Mini Rockefeller Tree is a project David and I completed shortly after Thanksgiving 2011. The tree consisted of material that can be purchased at any Lowe’s or Home Depot. The material included: 8- 2×4’s (8 feet tall) mounted together with plywood to erect four 16 foot tall stands. Block and hinge system on top to hold the four legs together. 2- 2×4’s (6 feet long) to tie the four legs together at mid height. Wooden stakes and 2×4’s (3 feet long) to anchor the legs to the ground. We also used farmer’s yarn, two stands in between the leg segments to produce a rounder feel for the tree once the lights are hung. Everything was coated with green paint and the lights were fastened with electrical staples to every other leg. The Zhushma Mini Rockefeller Tree stands close to 16 feet tall, almost 1/4 the size of New York’s Rockefeller Tree, which stands at a height of 74 feet this Christmas, 2011. We hope this tree stands tall in our front yard for years to come. Thanks to Timothy, David, Mark, Daniel, Lil, Tasha, Mom, Dad, and little Madelyn for making The Zhushma Mini Rockefeller Tree happen. Merry Christmas from the Zhushma family, and a Happy New Year! All the images, excluding the last, were taken by a cellphone.
